Electric Nail Files (E-Files)

A professional electric nail file, also known as an e-file or nail drill, is the tool that separates a fast, efficient professional nail service from a slow, manual one. Used correctly by a trained nail technician, an e-file reduces service time significantly while delivering more precise and consistent results than manual filing alone.

E-files are used across multiple stages of a professional nail service: for removing gel, acrylic, or Polygel product during infills and full removal, for cuticle preparation and pterygium removal, for surface preparation of the natural nail before product application, and for shaping and refining nail extensions after curing.

The correct handpiece speed (measured in RPM), direction, and bit selection for each task is critical for safe use. Too high a speed or incorrect technique generates heat and can damage the natural nail. All nail technicians using an e-file professionally should have completed training in correct e-file technique before using on clients.
