Collection: Prep & Removal

Correct nail preparation and safe removal are the two steps most responsible for the long-term health of the natural nail and the two steps most frequently skipped or rushed. The Gelish prep and removal range gives you everything needed to protect and prepare the nail at every stage of the gel service.

Before any gel product is applied, the nail plate must be correctly prepared. Gelish pH Bond cleanses the nail plate, removes surface oils and moisture, and balances the pH to create the optimal bonding environment for your base coat. Without pH Bond, natural nail oils are the single biggest cause of premature gel lifting. A nail dehydrator goes one step further, removing any remaining moisture, particularly important in humid environments or for clients with naturally oily nails.

Nail primer etches the nail surface at a microscopic level to create a mechanical bond between the natural nail and the product above, essential for acrylic and hard gel services where maximum adhesion is critical. Used in the correct sequence, cleanser, pH Bond, dehydrator, primer, the preparation stage sets up every service for the best possible result and longest wear time.

For removal, the correct soak-off process protects the natural nail from the damage caused by peeling, forcing, or scraping gel off the nail plate. Gelish soak-off remover is used with foil wraps or soaker clips to penetrate the cured gel over 10–15 minutes, after which the product wipes away cleanly with minimal surface disturbance. Never peel or force gel off, always soak off correctly.
